Who built Psiclops, where it runs, and how AI is (and isn't) used.
Psiclops is built by a team of chartered engineers and architects based near Cambridge, who believe ψ-values should be as accessible to self-builders, builders, and consultants as U-values and other data UK building control already requires.
Psiclops is designed and built in the UK, and runs on EU sovereign servers. For a tool handling real building designs, drawings, and calculation data, that matters: your data stays within a UK/EU data jurisdiction rather than being routed through infrastructure outside it.
No — never. Every ψ-value, U-value, and condensation figure Psiclops reports comes from a deterministic finite element solver, independently validated against published EN ISO 10211 and EN ISO 13788 reference cases (see our calculation verification page). AI is only ever used to write the plain-English narrative explaining an already-computed result, or to answer questions about it in Psiclops Assist — it never touches the underlying physics and never produces a number that ends up in your report. If AI narration is ever unavailable, the calculation itself is completely unaffected; only the descriptive text is missing.
Psiclops is built to work with multiple AI providers rather than depend on a single one — currently including Anthropic's Claude, Google's Gemini, and OpenAI's models, selected per task rather than fixed to one vendor. This is deliberate: if one provider has an outage or a model is deprecated, narrative features keep working rather than the whole product depending on a single company's availability. As above, none of these models ever compute a calculation result — only narrative text and conversational explanation.
